Do you want to save money and tread a gentle footprint? Wish to reduce the toxins in your home, build community and connect with your family with nature?
This is a lively workshop for creative hands. Learn a host of permaculture skills to enjoy indoors and out. Best of all, enjoy learning in a mature food forest with delicious food prepared on solar ovens and our specialty wood-fire stoves.
When you arrive at our permaculture food forest we will share morning tea with welcoming handmade and homegrown treats.
Tour, Pick and Prepare Homegrown Food
After morning tea we will tour our mature and diverse permaculture food forest bush tucker plants and rare tropical fruits. Little Silkie chickens roam freely and are protected by a fenced-off border patrol of geese. We will pass the hen house then visit the Taro glade with an intensive range of vegetables. Here we will pick some greens and herbs for our cooking in the range of solar ovens. You will see how they cook differently and which ones are super fast and which ones you can set and forget until you get hungry.
Build Your Skills Indoors and Out
We will introduce you to lots of ways to save money, save waste and enjoy creative productions.
In this course you will make a bunch of mini-projects including:

- basic seed raising

After lunch you will pick herbs for your own collection, sort and process off-cuts to make new food plants then make your own cleaning spray.
You will head home with some of your own indoor warm farm with worms, home-made fertiliser, bathroom food plants, seeds and cuttings and tubers from supermarket leftovers, recipes, Balcony/bathroom/courtyard design plans and the confidence and inspiration to live a healthier, greener life.
